House rules

.

• No smoking inside the property.

• Music must be respectful of our neighbours.

• Please report any damage immediately to Cornish Cleaners so there is time to source replacements in time for the next arrival.

• The patio sliding doors can be tricky, please be gentle. 

• Please do not attempt to move the outdoor furniture as this will damage the deck. To avoid floor damage, all furniture has been secured in place with screws. For everyone’s safety, please do not remove the cable ties from the swing chair and do not untie it from the pole.

• Please do not allow children to operate the blinds in the master bedroom; they are very sensitive and the system gets heated up quickly.

• The property has a septic tank; please make a note to not flush anything else apart from toilet tissue down the toilets. Also please do not pour cooking oils or fat into the sink drains. 

 

On the day of departure:

• Please leave the key in key safe on the day of departure.

• Please vacate the property by 10AM on day of departure, late departures are disruptive and can incur a £50 fee, payable to Cornish Cleaners.

•     •Please shut all windows when you leave the house.

•     •Please turn off the towel rails if they have been switched on.

 

 

Parking

 

There are two parking spaces in front of the property, clearly marked.

 

 

Electric Vehicles

 

A fast EV vehicle charging station can be found 8 min away, in the Origin’s Cafe car park, on the way to Porthleven: InstaVolt Charging Station, Whitefriars City Estate Ltd, Methleigh Bottoms, Porthleven TR13 9LF.

Ocean View’s electrics have not been insured, PAT tested or certified for electric vehicles to be charged from the property. Electric vehicles cannot be charged at Ocean View. Doing so is in breach of our fire safety and health and safety risk assessments, which invalidates our insurance policy.

If yo need to restart the router, you can find it on the console table, in the entry hall.

 

 

Dogs

 

We love dogs and we are very happy to share the house with you and your beloved pet. To make this possible and to ensure the enjoyment of all our visitors, we kindly ask you to follow the below rules:

• Dogs must always be properly controlled and supervised. 

• Dogs must not be left unattended in the property.

• Dogs are not permitted upstairs, in bedrooms, or on any furniture, including sofas and beds. This is in order to keep the houses in the highest condition for all our guests.

• Please do not allow the dogs to use the garden as a toilet and help us maintain a beautiful, green grass.

• Guests are asked to clean up after dogs, both inside and outside of the property, or extra cleaning costs may be charged.

 

TV & Appliances

 

If you need help with the appliances (microwave, oven, TVs) you can find a pack of handbooks in the small drawer, below the oven. Should you require further help, please feel free to give Charlotte a call. 

 

 

 

Heating

 

The house is heated by an underfloor system. The heating will be set at an optimum temperature on your arrival and can be controlled via the thermostat which is located in each room. Please follow the instructions below if you need to change the temperature, for each room:

 

1. To set the temperature higher press  (bottom, right corner of the thermostat) to your desired temperature, then press     to activate

2. To stop the heating, set the temperature lower by pressing      then press      to activate. There is not setting to cool the room, but to stop the heating. 

 

The bathroom towel rails switches are located in the boiler cupboard (utility room) and are clearly labelled. Please use the small key located on top of the door for access, making sure you keep the door locked at all times. Do not allow access to children in the boiler cupboard. Please turn off the towel rails when not in use and on your departure.

 

 

Master bedroom blinds

 

The the switch for the master bedroom blinds in located next to the light switch. To operate the blinds please press the dot in the middle, followed by the up or down arrow. Please do not allow children to operate the blinds as the system heats up quickly. Also, please do not store anything near the blinds, to allow a full course up or down- otherwise the system can stop working. 

 

 

Refuse disposal & Recycling

 

The rubbish is collected from the property every Friday. Please ensure all rubbish is placed in black bin bags and taken to the bins in the car park.

Please place your mixed recycling in a bin bag, in the black box (found in the utility room) and take it out on Friday to be collected with the general waste. 

Please use the BLACK BIN for general waste and the GREEN BIN for bagged mixed recycling. 

 

 

Check out / Departure instructions

 

Arrival after 4pm and check out is before 10am. 

On departure it is important the property is vacated by 10.00 to allow the cleaners time to get the property ready for the next arrival. We would kindly ask for beds to be stripped, rubbish taken out and any dirty dishes to be placed in the dishwasher and placed on a cycle.

Late departure will encounter a £50 late fee, payable to Cornish Cleaners. 

 

 

 

Breakages & Damages

 

Please report any damage of breakages to Charlotte at Cornish Cleaners on 0778 932 7562. Please do so at the earliest opportunity so there is time to source replacements ready for the next guests.
